Lent is coming

Lent is still a little more than a week away, but not that far off! In case you are interested in some structured resources to pray with for Lent, here are a few resources in Ignatian spirituality.

(1) Creighton University provides a Lent version of their online 19th Annotated Version of the Spiritual Exercises at the link below. They have readings, suggested ways to pray, reflections, and places to share in community. You can listen to some of the material in mp3 form if you prefer that to reading.

(2) Loyola Press is providing Lenten Moments of Mercy. Sign up for daily email reflections for Lent (through Easter Sunday) on the theme of mercy here:

They also have suggested books, arts and faith activities, and family oriented activities in the menu to the left of that page.

(3) The Irish Jesuits have daily prayer online (every day, not only for Lent) in which one can pray with Scripture and some suggested directions in prayer. They also have an app for your smartphone if that interests.

(4) Or, you can also simply pray with the daily or Sunday Mass readings, which will take you through the movements of Lent into Easter, too. The UCSSB has daily readings online on this page, where you can also sign up via email at the bottom to get them sent to your mailbox:
